Paris Saint-Germain confirm new three-year contract for Kylian Mbappe

Paris Saint-Germain have officially confirmed that Kylian Mbappe has signed a new contract at the club until the summer of 2025.
The World Cup winner was initially due to become a free agent at the end of the season and was widely expected to complete a free transfer to Real Madrid.

However, PSG refused to give up hope of extending Mbappe’s contract at the Parc des Princes, and the French champions tabled an astronomical offer to the forward.

Earlier on Saturday, news of Mbappe’s new three-year deal in the French capital emerged, and PSG have now confirmed that the ex-Monaco starlet has penned fresh terms.

Mbappe appeared on the pitch with president Nasser Al-Khelaifi ahead of Saturday’s Ligue 1 clash with Metz holding up a 2025 jersey, and the 23-year-old is excited to “make magic” at the club.

Prior to kickoff on Saturday evening, Mbappe had amassed a whopping 168 goals and 87 assists in 216 games in all competitions for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

The attacker is yet to win a Champions League crown with Les Parisiens but has collected four Ligue 1 titles, three Coupe de France titles and two Coupe de la Ligue crowns since 2017.

Mbappe was also named the Ligue 1 Player of the Year for the third season running earlier this month, having already amassed 25 goals and 19 assists from 34 top-flight outings.

The France international could earn another slice of French football history on Saturday as he aims to become the first-ever player to finish as top goalscorer and top assister in a Ligue 1 season.
